Boil water advisory in effect
A boil Water Advisory is in effect for Beaver Bank, Middle and Lower Sackville, Upper Hammonds Plains, Bedford, Fall River, Halifax, Timberlea, Spryfield and Herring Cove. Water is safe for hand washing and flushing toilets. Bottled water for drinking will be provided at impacted schools.

General:

  • GRADE 12s! Your Grad Hoodies are now available! Orders must be place by Jan 29! The link can be found in the email sent to families.

  • There will be a prom committee meeting TODAY at lunch in Ms. P’s room to discuss the prom theme. All Grade 12’s are welcome.

  • EXAM STUDY NIGHT: Come study for exams in the Millwood Cafeteria. We will have snacks and there will be teachers on hand to help you. TMR WED JAN 22nd 6-8 pm. 

  • PEER TUTORING is available every Wed. at lunch in room 212.  If you need help in any subject, there are four tutors available, just drop in.  

  • Come visit the Jack.org Relaxation Station in the SchoolsPlus space (room 237) tomorrow at lunch to relax with exams around the corner. We will have snacks, colouring, play-doh, and more stress relieving activities. 

  • To support students who need a quiet space to study for exams room 237 (schools plus) will be open to anyone who needs it-if the door is open you are welcome to come in.

  • Bell Let’s Talk Day, January 22, is just around the corner and Millwood High is joining in to help create positive change. We’re sharing actions big and small that we can all do to improve the lives of people struggling with mental health issues. Today’s action is advocate for a friend. Sometimes friends might not feel well enough to speak up for themselves. You can help by offering support, going with them to the guidance counsellor or Youth Health Centre, or simply listening. Because when it comes to mental health, every action counts. If you want to learn more about how to support someone who is struggling with their mental health, a great resource is Be There from Jack.org. Visit www.bethere.org to learn more.

Clubs & Council: 

  • GSA is cancelled today, Tuesday. 

  • ARE YOU READY TO SHOW YOUR SCHOOL SPIRIT?? Show your milly spirit at mascot showdown as lance goes head to head with other school mascots in an intense competition! This year, mascot showdown will be held at Auburn on February 20th! Tickets will be sold on the pad at lunch for $10 until the 22nd of this month. Come out and support Lance and our dancers!! LETS GO KNIGHTS!! 

Athletics:

  • Come support the Millwood boys varsity knights here at Millwood at 8pm tonight as they take on Bayview!
